70’s NYE Party

 

Join us at ‘The Pav’ for a 70’s party. Blast of the past music curated and presented by DJ Dave (aka D-Dog, or David Lowe – don’t encourage him too much or he may change career) and a 3 course buffet feast by Kim Currie (Kim refuses to theme the food, based on a belief that the music and fashion of the 1970’s were much better than the food).

Friday Night Tapas

 

Enjoy your Friday evening with friends on the terrace at LOWE cellar door with Spanish inspired food and your favourite wines by us. The 5 course shared tapas by Kim Currie can be found Fridays from January through April, so settle in with a glass or bottle as the long summer days fade across the hills.

Winemakers Table ‘Dinner Under The Stars’

 

David and Kim bring back the ever popular, fun and informal long table dinner with the addition of a summer evening breeze and starlight. Enjoy the four course dinner prepared by Kim with matched wines (and entertainment) by David.

Summer Workshop: The Cleansing Diet With Sam Currie

 

Sam Currie is owner and chef of the plant based kitchen ‘Mad Dogg’, a yoga teacher and committed health and sustainability practitioner. In this workshop Sam combines his goal to showcase the versatility of organic plant based wholefoods with traditional cleansing customs. You will learn simple ways to cleanse your body helping to strengthen and promote a sense of balance, vitality and overall well being. Workshop includes lunch prepared by Sam.

Summer Workshop: Sourdough Masterclass With Sam Currie

 

Taught by the masters himself, Sam is the creator and ‘keeper’ of the Zin House sourdough; passing on his techniques and ‘not so secrets’ to a succession of chefs and bakers. In this workshop you will learn how to make and look after your own sourdough culture, plus the practical skills to give your bread that perfect sourdough texture and flavour at home. Workshop includes lunch at the Zin House.

Summer Workshop: Jam and Preserve Making With Kim Currie

 

Jams and preserves are the ultimate waste not techniques. In this workshop Kim will take you through simple and classic techniques to ensure nothing goes to waste. Starting in the garden with a harvest of seasonal produce, followed by a hands-on demonstration as Kim shares her tips and twists on the classics.

‘Kitchen by Mike’ Guest Chef Dinner By Mike McEnearney

 

Mike’s down to earth, canteen-style eatery ‘Kitchen by Mike’ serves simple, nourishing dishes, with flavour backed by his fine dining roots. Finding himself right at home in a kitchen garden, produce will be gathered from the Zin garden and prepared in the open kitchen, with wine matched by David Lowe.

Summer Workshop: Winemaking In A Bathtub With David Lowe

 

David claims he has no skills relevant to urban environments. He does however have many skills relevant to viticulture, biodynamics and organic farming. This workshop pares wine back to the basic principles of fruit, fermentation and handling. Starting with a walk through the vineyards learning about vines, then back to the cellar door to get your hands dirty and learn all about the process of winemaking while doing so. Workshop followed by lunch at ‘The Pavilion’.

Australia Day Tapas, Wine Bar & Tinja ‘Surf Club’

 

Enjoy Sunday evening Tapas and a pop-up Wine Bar at The Pav, featuring the Tinja Surf Club ‘beach’. Bring a beach chair and towel to set up under the umbrellas on the Tinja beach, and enjoy tapas style food by the Zin House team and wine by Lowe.

Summer Workshop: DIY Herbal First Aid Kit With Pat Collins

 

Educating in Australia for over 30 years, Pat Collins is an Herbalist Iridologist and Hypnotherapist, with full health appraisal. In this workshop Pat will help you make your own herbal first aid kit from natures finest plants/weeds. Starting with a garden walk identifying useful herbs and weeds, learning the many important functions these have in nourishing and regenerating our bodies as well as our soils, animals and landscapes. You will then make 16 products to take home including capsules, creams, ointments, tinctures, rescue remedies and flour de salts. All ingredients, jars, bottles and lunch at ‘The Pavilion’ are included in the cost.

Tunnel of Lowe

 

A night spent dining under the canopy of ripening Block 5 vines, join the long table for a night of food, wine and stars. Starting on the Lowe terrace before moving to the tables set amongst the rows of Shiraz grapes, Tunnel of Lowe is always one for the books.

Bus leaves at 6.15 pm from the Mudgee Tourist Office with a stop at Parklands and returns at 11pm via Parklands to Mudgee Tourist Office. Sunday morning recovery breakfast is from 9.30 am – 10.30 am.

In this workshop Sam showcases the flavour and versatility of organic plant based wholefoods, starting with a garden walk harvesting plants, flowers and herbs then straight to the kitchen to get creative with the cooking. Summer Workshop: Bee Hotels And Worm Beds With Christine Corner

 

Christine Corner is a local Permaculture teacher with many years experience in Production Horticulture and Certified Organic Farming. The skills she teaches empower people to establish abundant productive gardens. In this hands on workshop you will learn to make your own Native Bee Hotel out of recycled materials and how to attract other beneficial insects into your garden. You will also learn to make a worm farm out of a recycled bath, how to care for your worms and their benefits to the garden. The workshop is followed by lunch at ‘The Pavilion’.
