2010 Louee Nullo Mountain Late Picked Riesling
$25.00 AUD inc. gst > OUT OF STOCK |
This medium-sweet style of Riesling has a fresh honeydew melon aroma coupled with apricot overtones from the botrytis. This sugary lemon and lime taste with a dry, crisp finish wine will only continue to develop in the bottle over the next 10 years.

"Harvested significantly later than the dry version, this has 12 per cent alcohol and substantial sweetness. Bright, full and yellow; honeysuckle aromas with a long powerful palate which carries plenty of acid, keeping it fresh and balanced. Cellar to 9 years. 94 Points. "
Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald, February 2011
"David Lowe recently entered partnership with the owners of Louee, who's vineyards are at Rylstone (620m) and Nullo Mountain (1,100m). The latter produces supremely refined, almost Germanic rieslings. The dry wine is forbiddingly in youth; the late picked deliciously leavened by sweetness."
Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald, Good Living, 2 August 2011
"A gorgeous cool-climate riesling with sweetness and racy acidity giving a thrilling palate. Rich, complex honeysuckle aromas suggesting some botrytis; power and richness allied with delicacy in the mouth. Lovely acidity assists tightness and length. Now to 2020. 12 per cent alcohol. 94/100 Food: fish with hollandaise .
Tony Love, Daily Telegraph & Courier Mail, May 2011
"A little shy in the aromatic to start, but there's a wow factor on the palate once the sweetness kicks in. This is getting into dessert wine territory rather than 'off-dry'. Perhaps medium sweet is a better sign post, with its honeyed senses, honeydew-melon flavours and an almost lime-marmalade note, as well with great acidity and crispness underneath. 4/5 glasses. Value: Fair & Square. Food: Key lime pie."

"I've loved the Germanic style of rieslings from this vineyard since David Lowe started making them in 2004, thinking they could so easily pass for Mosels of some heritage. This is an even richer style with sweetness and "normal" level of alcohol (12%), suggesting the Rheingau rather than Mosel - honeysuckle and citrus with the palate richness tempered beautifully by racy cool-climate acidity. A beautifully paced wine that should age for a decade and drink throughout that lifespan. 5 Stars"
