Heroes & Icons is a dinner event celebrating all that is excellent about the Mudgee wine industry – the wine, the region and its people.
Old examples of the varieties that originally put Mudgee on the map will be dusted off from cellars around the region and tasted along with some of the edgy new styles shoring up Mudgee’s future.
The Lowe Winery will host the six course dinner also showcasing Mudgee produce prepared by local chefs including Rachael McCarthy, David Cox and Kim Currie.
The inaugural ‘Heroes & Icons’ award will be presented on the night to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Mudgee Wine Industry.
The night is also fundraising for a wine industry scholarship which will be unveiled later in the year. For this reason everyone working on the event is donating their time and services.
Food media identity Peter Howard will compare the evening and introduce the characters and stories of past and present.
